Roku Kits
Try out steaming services for free using your library card! Reserve a Roku device with various streaming services. Not all of the streaming services are available on every device.
Currently the bundled choices are:
- Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+
- Apple TV and Acorn TV
- Max (HBO) and Peacock
- Prime with Paramount+ and Hallmark Movies Now channels
- Netflix

What’s included in a Roku + Mi-Fi kit?
- All contents listed above, and
- Mi-Fi hotspot
- 1 Mi-Fi power cable (USB-A to USB-C)
- 1 wall adapter
What type of Roku kit should I reserve?
If you have Wi-Fi available in your home, please reserve and check out Roku devices without a Mi-Fi hotspot. If you do NOT have Wi-Fi in your home, please reserve a Roku kit with a hotspot. (Both Netflix capable Roku devices circulate with hotspots. Connect to the hotspot whether or not you have Wi-Fi.)
How to Connect
IMPORTANT: DO NOT LOG OUT OF STREAMING SERVICES. All streaming services are already logged in. If a service is not logged in or is logged out by a user, the device and full kit must be returns to the library so that they may be logged in. Login information will not be provided to users.
Roku Device – with or without hotspot
- Connect the device using the HDMI cable to a HDMI port in your TV or computer.
- If you are using the included Mi-Fi hotspot, power it on BEFORE powering on the Roku device.
- Connect the Roku power cable (USB-A to micro) to the device and connect the USB-A side of the cable to the power adapter to plug into the wall. Alternately, you can plug the USB-A side directly into a USB port is available.
- Once the device loads, use the Roku remote to navigate down to the ‘Settings’ option.
- Go to ‘Network Connection.’ You should see a list of available Wi-Fi networks.
- If you are using the included Mi-Fi, it should automatically connect to the hotspot. If not go to ‘Settings’ and select it as your network: BRL Roku and enter the password: 12345678.
- If you have available Wi-Fi, select your home network and then enter your password.
- Once you are connected to Wi-Fi, you can hit the Home button on the remote and will be able to navigate to any of the streaming services or other channels.
Checkout & Usage Guidelines
Checkout Guidelines:
Rokus can be placed on hold and checked out for 14 days. Rokus are renewable if there is no one on the waiting list.
One Roku device per library card.
Borrower must be 18+ to checkout Roku devices with a valid BRL card in good standing.
Usage Guidelines:
Users must have Wi-Fi to be able to use the Roku devices. If not, users can check out a Roku + Mi-Fi Kit.
Use of the Roku devices is subject to the Terms of the Blackwater Regional Library Technology Use Policy.
Fees
$60 replacement fee for entire Roku (device and accessories) + $10 processing fee
$90 replacement fee for entire Roku + Mi-Fi (devices and accessories) + $10 processing fee
